Mehmil Nadeem b. 1996 is a multi-disciplinary artist and filmmaker currently based in London.

She received her MFA from Goldsmiths University, London in 2023, and her BFA from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore in 2019. She’s the recipient of Bloomberg’s New Contemporaries 2022 and exhibited at Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, and South London Gallery as a part of the touring exhibition. She is also the recipient of the Bridget Riley Artist Development Programme supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Bridget Riley Foundation and the Arts Council of England.

Some of her collaborative residencies and exhibitions include ‘Futures After’, 2022, at Hypha Studios supported by the Arts Council of England, ‘Melody, Movement & Migration’, 2023, by A Particular Reality programming at Goldsmiths CCA Gallery and ‘Dust and Shapes’: Modern Migration through Food & Belonging, 2024, at Pushkin House, London. She has also been selected for the ABG Emerging Talent, 2024, exhibition at Alice Black Gallery, London.

Her practice revolves around questioning the archive of memory and constructing identity in various ways in the wake of globalization. Using film collaging, photography, familial objects, and traditions, she explores cross-cultural heritages and the creation of a hybrid identity that evokes questions about ideas of home, community, care and migration.
